Nonprofit Group Coaching
How does group coaching work?
In group coaching, a small group of people commit to at least eight
90-minute sessions of coaching together. Members commit to confidentiality.
Participants can meet in person, call into a conference call line, or
some combination. Each person has a chance to briefly check in with where
they are, then there is time for two people to get coaching for about
thirty minutes each. While Steve leads the coaching, other members are
encouraged to ask questions, use reflective listening, and share their
collective wisdom. We end with a brief check-out and commitments to action
steps. In addition, members are asked to pair up with a buddy and to
check in with that person between sessions, to lend support and accountability.
Groups can be formed around certain commonalities, such as a
career development group or a nonprofit professionals group, or the
group can be an open forum. Groups will be formed when there is enough
interest. If you would like to participate in group coaching, please
e-mail
me with a description of your interest.
"Working with Steve has been a godsend.
He helped me to break out of a shell, to start exploring things again, and
to move forward with confidence. I'm now paying attention to what really
matters, am better at dealing with difficult situations, and am focused
on where the organization is going. Steve really knows his stuff."
- Pat Davenport, CEO
Families and Schools Together, Inc.
“Steve served as a calm, nonjudgmental sounding board for my concerns.
He helped me to view a particular threat as an opportunity, thus reducing
some significant anxiety. As someone experienced with nonprofits, he also
offered insight into the different ways that a nonprofit can operate."
- Bruce Moffat, Executive Director
Wisconsin Community Fund
“Steve Hingle’s coaching service has been a wise investment
of my resources in my early days here in Madison. Steve moved smoothly
between personal and professional issues with me, asking clear questions,
listening closely to my responses and then skillfully offering me my
own words back in statements that encouraged and enlightened me. Becoming
the change I want to see has been hard work and I’m thankful for Steve’s
adroit support along this journey.”
- Barbara Bolan,
Executive Director
